Stitching seemed to be going well - I was proceeding (per the instructions) with all the cross stitch before I could begin the embroidery portion. See those last seven or eight rows at the bottom in the middle? Well, those are over-one stitches using one strand of floss. On 28 count fabric those stitches are eeee-tiny - even with my magnifier my eyes want to cross :-) Something suddenly struck me - I'm not sure what and I looked at the completed picture and the chart I was working on - and realized I had the chart UPSIDE DOWN. Oh lordy :-( So I'm going to have to pick out all those stitches and re-do that section. Woe is me. . . . .
Miniature Summer Sampler
My next project will be the "Miniature Summer Sampler" by Teresa Wentzler. It's small (6 3/4" by 4 3/4") and incorporates cross stitch, beads. overdyed silk floss and ribbon embroidery. The pink roses you see in the picture are created with ribbons and add a third dimension to the piece. The background fabric is 28-count antique white linen.
I think once it's framed, I'll use a small easel to display it. I'll keep you posted as the project progresses.
Cross Stitch Complete !
Cross stitching is complete, but, somehow, I'm just not happy with this. Maybe some storage time is all this needs. I'll mark my calendar and look at it in a month or so and see if my attitude has changed. . .
As of 6/30/15
This sampler is moving along well; I'm about three quarters of the way through with it. I'm really liking the images and the feel of the fabric and the floss continues to delight me.

Laundry Today (as of 10/15/2014)
This is a small piece (5.5" x 5.5") and has relatively few stitches, so I'm moving through it rapidly. I should be able to finish this by the end of October.
Laundry Today . . .
Or Naked Tomorrow is a cute little project I saw on the Facebook group site called "Cross Stitch SAL" (SAL is stitch-a-long).
I thought this was really cute and would be amusing to have in our laundry room. It's roughly 5 inches by 5 inches with relatively little cross stitching, so I think of it as an "amuse-bouche" before I begin my next big project.
